On July 3, the Global Black Economic Forum hosted our inaugural Future of Health Awards Dinner — a night that brought together community leaders, health equity champions, and changemakers for celebration, connection, and recognition of those driving progress.
As one of GBEF’s four pillars — alongside work, wealth, and democracy — health remains a critical force in shaping opportunity, access, and justice for Black communities. This year, we honored leaders and organizations fighting for a healthier future, including:
Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, former Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
The Health Equity in Transplantation Coalition (HEiTC), led by Al B. Sure! and Rachel Noerdlinger
Gilead Sciences Inc., for its commitment to equitable healthcare innovation and its new breakthrough in HIV prevention treatment
The evening underscored what we know to be true: when health equity thrives, so does our collective future.
