The Global Black Economic Forum hosted the inaugural U.S. Columbia Binational Summit for Afrodescendant Leaders on May 14 and 15, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia, a pioneering event aimed at elevating Afro-Colombian leaders by facilitating meaningful connections with African American influencers across various sectors. The two-day event — the first of its kind — hosted nearly 300 leaders and business presentations from both countries to confront shared challenges and opportunities in entrepreneurship, culture and entertainment. This initiative is the answer to a bilateral, robust, and diverse agenda between leaders from both nations to foster racial equality, promote knowledge-sharing, and create support networks to close the equity and opportunity gaps.
Participants included Ambassador of Columbia in the United States Luis Gilbert Murillo; Governor of Choco Columbia Nubia Carolina Cordoba; Consul General Adriana Arias and many others.
