The Global Black Economic Forum's Public Convention at the 2023 ESSENCE Festival of Culture welcomed trailblazers, industry leaders, thinkers, and policymakers from every corner of the world. A shared space for innovation, discussion, and action centered on the themes of the future of work, wealth, health, and democracy, the convention aims to delve deep into these critical areas through thought-provoking panel discussions, interactive workshops, and roundtable discussions.
Topics covered during the 2023 convention included how voting and policy shifts aid in building Black wealth and power; centering equity in economic policy; fighting for reproductive freedom; models for wealth building and investing and the role of retirement planning; expanding access to capital for minority and female entrepreneurs; affirmative action, DEI and reparations; policing and criminal justice reform; artificial intelligence and bias in health care and employment; ending junk fees and predatory lending practices; closing the racial wealth gap; and many more.
